The Municipality of Loboc is a merely 24 kilometers from Tagbilaran City. It is known for a number of attractions which include the scenic and winding Loboc River, floating restaurants and the Loboc Children's Choir.
Local and foreign tourists who visit the town of Loboc must always include a cruise along the Loboc River, whether on small bancas readily available for hire or on one of the town's floating restaurants.
A cruise along the Loboc River starts either from the Loay Bridge, which is 20 kilometers from Tagbilaran City or at the town's Poblacion, which is about 25 kilometers from Tagbilaran City. Motorized bancas for groups of five people are available for hire along the river bank for a minimal fee. Those who want to eat while taking a cruise along the river can also avail of the services of floating restaurants that offer buffet lunch. These floating restaurants serve Filipino dishes and can accommodate up to 50 people. SOme floating restaurants have in-house bands that play Boholano songs during the cruise.
The motorized bancas and floating restaurants take cruisers upstream passing by nipa trees. coconuts and other tropical flora and ends up the Busay Falls.
When in the Busay Falls area, cruisers are treated to rondalla music in a floating cottage occupied by a local rondalla group. Along the way, one may also stop at a resort called Nuts Huts or at the area where wild chickens, turtles and pythons are grown. The Nuts Huts is a favorite hangout for bikers and hikers who love to be in the middle of the peaceful and scenic surroundings of the Loboc River bank. The houses along the river bank have also decorated their lawns with colorful flowers made of plastic and paper.
Getting There
To get to Loboc, buses and taxis are available in Tagbilaran City that will take one hour. Loboc River Cruising is also included in the activities of tourists who hire the services of travel agencies.
