The Tagbilaran City Tourist Pier is being serviced by at least 12 shipping lines that have boats that sail to and from various areas in the country. average ship call per day is 15 vessels which accomodate a daily traffic of 4,140 passengers.
There are 35 trips to Cebu daily, 12 of which are fast ferry vessels. These fast ferry catarman-type vessels reduce the travel time from Cebu to Bohol and vice versa to at least 1 hour and 30 minutes. There are two trips to Manila per week and there are also boats that service the Tagbilaran City Tourist Pier from Siquijor, Dumaguete, Dipolog, Iligan, Plaridel, Ozamis City and Cagayan de Oro City. There are also ports on other towns in the province. The Jagna Port serves as Bohol's gateway to Mindanao, specifically to Cagayan and Camiguin.
Bohol can also be reached from Cebu through the ports of Tubigon, Ubay and Talibon. There are 18 minor ports in some other areas of the province.
Banca
Motorized outrigger canoes, locally known as banca, are popularly used for inter-island travel adventures or "island hoppings". These boats can be rented from various resorts offering island tour packages of from boat operators around Bohol's island resort destinations like Panglao, Balicasag, Cabilao and Pamilacan. Most diving operators usually have their bancas for diving tours to some of the best dive sites in the island. Locals also ride the banca for a fee as a mean of transportation to reach neighboring islands from the mainland. Cruises in the different reivers in the island province are also being service by bancas.
